Sidi Ali Ben Aoun (سيدي علي بن عون) is a city in central Tunisia, located about fifty kilometers south of Sidi Bouzid, in southern piedmont of the Tunisian dorsal and more specifically the eponymous Jebel. It lies on the axis of Kairouan-Gafsa NR3.

It bears the name of a holy man Sidi Ali Ben Aoun, the city is home to the mausoleum.

Attached to the governorate of Sidi Bouzid, it is a municipality of 20,042 inhabitants in 2010. It is also the capital of a delegation with the same name.

Its name evokes the settlement of nomadic tribal group belonging to Ouled Sidi Ben Aoun. These origins are found in a horse breeding tradition with practice fantasia. This is highlighted on the occasion of the organization of the National Festival of Sidi Ali Ben Aoun whose 17th edition was held in August 2008

The city is an agricultural town polarizing a plain practicing extensive agriculture olive cultivation and breeding of sheep.
